There is hope here for sure for the Bengals, who have one of the better 2-2 teams that we can see in the league at this point. The team doesn’t have the best offense in the world, but as long as QB Andy Dalton doesn’t end up locking down on WR AJ Green all game long and keeps the ball out of the hands of DB Aqib Talib, good things are going to happen. We can’t believe that the Patriots can stop a good running attack right now until we see it happen, and until that proves to be the case, we’re deeming the injury to DT Vince Wilfork to be relatively damning. You don’t replace a massive man like that in the middle of your line with that much athleticism easily.
We’re also not all that sold on the Pats right now. We aren’t sure how good the Falcons are, and we know that the Jets, the Bills, and the Bucs all stink. There are your four wins. Thanks to a pitiful schedule, New England is going to win at least 10 or 11 games this year, and maybe even more than that. However, of all of the 4-0 teams, this is the one that we trust the least when it comes to playing these big time games. We’ve seen how excited Paul Brown Stadium can get for big time visitors; just ask the Packers how they felt carrying their huge lead into the fourth quarter here in Cincy. We can’t believe that we’re really not laying much of anything to get the Bengals on our side on Sunday.
