Do the Bills really have any chance in this game to succeed against the Patriots? The mass majority out there are really giving them no shot whatsoever, and there is at least a bit of credence to that, knowing that QB Jeff Tuel is likely to become the first undrafted rookie to start a game in Week 1 for a team in the modern era of football. That said, we like the way that Tuel looked in the preseason, as did Head Coach Doug Marrone, and even if QB EJ Manuel can’t end up getting ready for this one, Tuel might have the answers to at least move the ball a bit on a New England defense which definitely wasn’t up to par over the course of a good chunk of last season.

The bottom line is that we just don’t buy into the Patriots either. New England has a good team for sure, and it is the best team in the AFC East for sure, but is it really able to go on the road and win by double digits at this point, especially if TE Rob Gronkowski isn’t ready to give it a go in this one? That’s a tall, tall task, even against an undrafted rookie free agent. We just aren’t much for laying so many points with a team which is relying on some combination of Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, and Zach Sudfeld to catch passes, even if those passes are coming from the great QB Tom Brady. New England will win, but it will get everything that it could possibly ask for in this game. Give these Bills fans an inch of hope, and they’re going to be making life on the Patriots a living hell on Sunday.
