Pittsburgh has yet to win a preseason game this year, and we have a hard time believing that this is going to be the game where all of that changes. The offense has been hideous all preseason long, and that isn’t going to change in this one. Pittsburgh ranks 24th in football, averaging 289.0 yards per game. No one has scored more than one touchdown, and in fact, the offense only has a total of three offensive touchdowns in three games. Of course, we don’t have a ton of confidence in the Carolina offense either right now. Yes, the team scored 34 points last week, but there were four returns for touchdowns in that win over the Baltimore Ravens. All that being said, though we think the ‘under’ is the better of the two plays, we still think that Carolina has at least shown some fight. This is an important game for a pair of veterans in QB Derek Anderson and QB Jimmy Clausen. Anderson already has a hold on the backup job and shouldn’t punt it away, but Clausen might be fighting for his job. We think that the former Notre Dame standout will at least manage to not cough this game up totally. We’ll play a nice seven-point teaser to get some key numbers on our side.
