We’re going to jump right onto the Kansas City bandwagon before this spread gets up into the 7-10 range if it is announced that QB Matt Schaub is out for this game. It’s interesting that a win could really help save the season for Houston, especially with a bye next week and games against the Colts, Cardinals, Raiders, and Jaguars coming after that. However, a loss would really plunge the team into the depths too deep to be salvaged in all likelihood. Only 9% of all teams that start 2-4 make the playoffs, and the Texans don’t seem to be one of those teams to us to make a comeback like that. This team has been bad enough to be 0-6 SU as well as 0-6 ATS this season, and there is no excuse for it.
For as sharp as Houston seems (and very well could be), this Texans fan realizes that the team is -8 in the turnover department in the last two weeks. Regardless of who is quarterbacking the team, there is no confidence whatsoever in spite of the fact that he has all of the tools around him to be successful. The defense is about the only thing worth a lick on this team, as this unit has held teams down to just 252.8 yards per game this season, easily the best mark in football. However, Kansas City has the best scoring defense in the game, and it already has more sacks this season than it did all of last year. The pressure is going to be too much for the Texans to handle, and they’ll suffer a third straight blowout loss to go into their bye week on their lowest note in years.
Texans @ Chiefs Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -6.5
Texans @ Chiefs Score Prediction: Kansas City 31 – Texans 13
