Week 3 Preseason NFL Picks: Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers
Date: Sunday, August 25th, 8:00 ET
Location: Candlestick Park, San Francisco, CA
Week 3 Preseason Betting Odds: San Francisco -3 (39)
Vikings vs. 49ers Live TV: NBC

Theoretically, this is a game that San Francisco should run away from the Vikings. The 49ers are definitively the better of these two teams, and we just can’t imagine that, in spite of the fact that this is the third preseason game, that the Vikings are going to deploy their best weapon, RB Adrian Peterson all that much. What we have seen out of Minnesota here in the exhibition season is that the team is going to be very vanilla, yet try to throw the ball a bit. The Vikings are averaging just 78 rushing yards per game though, and with some very suspect quarterbacks to work with, the scoring average is understandably low at 14.5 points per game. The 49ers have only averaged 10.5 points per game, but their defense has been out of this world, something that should stay the case once again in this one. If QB Colin Kaepernick plays the whole first half as we expect, we have to think that this is the game where Head Coach Jim Harbaugh is going to want to see something out of his first teamers. The backups will suffice and finish putting this game away in the second half though, as the Vikes just don’t have the ability to put a ton of points on the board.

Vikings @ 49ers Pick: San Francisco 49ers -3
Vikings @ 49ers Score Prediction: San Francisco 20 – Minnesota 10
