The Motor City hosts its first bowl game of the year this season on Sunday night in a standalone duel in primetime. Making college football picks on the clash between the Florida International Golden Panthers and the Toledo Rockets should be relatively easy, and here at Cappers Info, we have the ins and outs for the game that you need to know in order to be successful and cash in big!

Little Caesars Bowl Matchup: Florida International Golden Panthers vs. Toledo Rockets
Date: Sunday, December 64th, 8:30 ET
Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Little Caesars Bowl Line: Toledo -1.5
Over/Under 56

Golden Panthers Notes: The Golden Panthers are playing in their first bowl game in team history on Sunday, and if they have the same sort of success in their first bowl game is their brethren, the Florida Atlantic Owls, they're going to be in great shape. We have to give Head Coach Mario Cristobal all the credit in the world for getting this team to .500 and winning the Sun Belt this year in a season in which many thought that this would be a last place team. Truth be told, a very difficult schedule really didn't play into the hands of the Golden Panthers, though they nearly claimed a scalp from a big time conference against the Maryland Terrapins, Texas A&M Aggies, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights. QB Wesley Carroll is the only many on this roster to have played in a bowl game before. He took the Mississippi State Bulldogs to the Liberty Bowl in 2007 and won the game 10-3 in one of the ugliest displays that we college football bettors have seen in a bowl game. Still, he can rally this team around and can show them that they have the ability to win this duel in spite of the fact that the Little Caesars Bowl odds are stacked against them. The Golden Panthers have a fantastic running game that once had three men rush for 100+ yards in a game against the Troy Trojans earlier this year. RB Darriet Perry rumbled for 707 yards and 14 scores this year, while his backup, RB Darrian Mallary had 669 yards on the ground with two scores. Meanwhile, Carroll did have the best season that an FIU QB has ever had, throwing for 2,483 yards and 15 TDs.

Rockets Notes: We'd probably feel a lot better about the Rockets if we didn't know that they were the last team to get into a bowl game this year. Their fellow MAC squad, the Temple Owls, were left home in spite of the fact that they had the exact same record at 8-4. Where Toledo gets the nod is the fact that it really stood in the face of adversity this season when it lost starting QB Austin Dantin. Since that point, the ball has been in the hands of QB Terrance Owens, who has played spectacular ball in his freshman campaign. Owens has thrown for 1,112 yards and 12 TDs, which is five scores more than Dantin had for the rest of the season. Keep a very close eye on WR Eric Page in this one, as he had 94 grabs for 1,081 yards and eight TDs in his second season with the Rockets. Page might only be 5'10", but he is a speedy receiver that has some fantastic hands. Page is averaging right at nine catches per game over the last nine games. RB Adonis Thomas averaged over six yards per carry this year, and it is a shame that he really doesn't get the ball in his hands enough to make a tremendous impact on some games. Still, Toledo's top back had 905 yards and visits to pay dirt this year. Defensively, the Rockets might have allowed 28.1 points per game this year, but if you take out the 41 the Arizona Wildcats scored and the 65 the Northern Illinois Huskies put on the board, you realize that this was a very respectable 'D' all season long.

The Final Word: The Golden Panthers might be the better team in this game in spite of the fact that they came from the worse conference and had a worse record. This was a significantly harder schedule that they had to play to get to this point, and it is going to show on Sunday night with a big time triumph over the Rockets.

Matchup: Miami Redhawks @ Akron Zips
Date: Friday, November 17th, 6:00 ET
Location: InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field, Akron, OH
Game Line: Miami -10.5
Over/Under 48

The 6-4 Miami of Ohio Redhawks will look to keep their hopes at a MAC East title alive Wednesday night when they travel to Akron to take on the 0-10 Zips. The Redhawks have been impressive in conference this year, putting up a 5-1 mark with their only loss being to the Ohio Bobcats. Last week against Bowling Green, Miami withstood a late charge from the Falcons to prevail 24-21 thanks to a 33 yard Trevor Cook field goal with a second remaining. QB Zac Dysert had a very good game, considering the foggy conditions. Dysert completed 19 of 25 passes for 221 yards and a score and also ran for 20 yards and a TD in the win. RB Thomas Merriweather had a good game running the ball as well, carrying the rock 17 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. As for Akron, the season can’t end soon enough for the Zips. Akron has lost eight of their 10 games by double digits and even lost to FCS opponent Gardner-Webb (a team that is only 3-7 themselves) earlier this year. Two Saturdays ago, the Zips almost got their first win of the season but fell 37-30 to Ball State in double overtime. QB Patrick Nicely had an up and down game, throwing for four touchdowns but also throwing three interceptions while only completing 46% of his passes for 178 yards. RB Alex Allen had a very good game for the Zips on the ground, rushing 25 times for 165 yards. If Akron has any hope of beating Miami, they must stop turning the ball over after another multiple turnover game last week.

Matchup: Bowling Green Falcons @ Toledo Rockets
Date: Wednesday, November 17th, 8:00 ET
Location: Glass Bowl, Toledo, OH
Game Line: Toledo -10
Over/Under 54

The 6-4 Toledo Rockets will host the 2-8 Bowling Green Falcons Wednesday night in the battle for the Peace Pipe. The last time college football betting fans saw the Rockets, Toledo was getting its doors blown off by Northern Illinois 65-30 on national television last Tuesday night. Toledo was dominated in all aspects of the game, mainly putting up their gaudy numbers in the second half when they were already down four scores. RB Adonis Thomas had some huge second half runs, finishing the day with 10 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns. QB Terrance Owens had a decent game as well, completing 18 of 38 passes for 186 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Defensively, Toledo must improve after allowing the Huskies to rack up 584 yards of offense on 70 plays for 8.3 yards per play. As for Bowling Green, the Falcons suffered a tough loss last week on a last second FG when they fell 24-21 to the Miami (OH) Redhawks. In the game, RB Willie Geter was pretty much held in check with only 16 carries for 34 yards but did manage two touchdowns on the day. QB Matt Schilz must improve on his numbers from last week as well, completing 17 of 29 passes for 176 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Matchup: Toledo Rockets @ Northern Illinois Huskies
Date: Tuesday, November 9th, 7:00 ET
Location: Huskie Stadium, Dekalb, Illinois
Game Line: Northern Illinois -11.5
Over/Under OTB

The MAC West champion will be decided for all intents and purposes Tuesday night when the 7-2 Northern Illinois Huskies take on the 6-3 Toledo Rockets. Both the Rockets and the Huskies are 5-0 in conference and both teams play sub-.500 teams in their last two games, so this game will virtually determine who will end up playing the MAC East winner on December 3rd at Ford Field in the MAC Title Game. Two Saturdays ago, Northern Illinois got a scare from a game Western Michigan team, but a Chandler Harnish touchdown pass to Willie Clark with four minutes to go was enough to give the Huskies a 28-21 win against the Broncos. Harnish had another solid game under center for Northern Illinois, completing 60% of his passes for 214 yards with two touchdowns and a pick while also running for 33 yards and a score. RB Chad Spann also contributed by carrying the ball 22 times for 146 yards and a touchdown on the day. Toledo had a much easier time in their last game, cruising to a 42-7 win over lowly Eastern Michigan. The win came at a big price for the Rockets though, as starting QB Austin Dantin will likely miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. True freshman QB Terrance Owens will get the start Tuesday night and showed some promise against the Eagles. Owens completed 10 of 15 passes for 234 yards and four touchdowns and completed three 50+ yard touchdowns in the victory.

Here at Cappers Info, we are taking a weekly look at the teams that could be ones ripe to pull off some major upsets! Check out the potentially ugly dogs that could come up and bite you in the butt in you aren't careful for the first week of college football betting action!

Pittsburgh Panthers (+135 at Diamond Sportsbook) @ Utah Utes, Thursday, 8:30 ET: The Panthers are lined at +3 in a rematch of the 2005 Fiesta Bowl in which the Utes beat them down 35-7. With RB Dion Lewis ready to rock and roll, the Panthers could be a scary pick not only to win this game, but to capture the Big East crown and potentially even the BCS National Championship as well. The Utes don't know what is about to hit them in this one. There's more on this game coming later this week…

Toledo Rockets (+500 at Diamond Sportsbook) vs. Arizona Wildcats, Friday, 8:00 ET: QB Austin Dantin is ready to prove himself as a legitimate threat to be one of the best players in the MAC in this, his sophomore season, and there would be no better way to go about that than in the opening game of the year at home against the Cats. This is a long, long road trip for HC Mike Stoops' men, and traveling across the country heading into the Glass Bowl is never a fun task. Though several key pieces are gone from last year's team, this is still an offense that averaged 437.9 yards per game last year, the 13th best mark in the land. Ask Colorado how easy it is for a West Coast school to come over to Toledo and walk out with a win in a nationally televised game… The Buffs were blown out 54-38 here last year. We'll take our chances at +500 that the Rockets can strike twice.

Connecticut Huskies (+130 at Diamond Sportsbook) @ Michigan Wolverines, Saturday, 3:30 ET: Prepare for the Big House to burn! The Huskies are out to make a name for themselves and for the Big East, and they can do so by making Big Blue and their head coach Rich Rodriguez very uncomfortable with the start of their season. It appears as though Rodriguez is going to try to use both QB Tate Forcier and QB Denard Robinson to lead the Wolverines to victory in this one, but he should probably be focused in on trying to stop UConn RB Jordan Todman instead. This is a prospective 1,500+ yard rusher in the making, and Michigan's defense ranked 92nd in the land last year on the ground. Don't be shocked to find the Huskies winning this one and potentially winning it in big, big fashion.

Virginia Tech Hokies (+115 at Diamond Sportsbook) vs. Boise State Broncos, Monday, 8:00 ET: There will be plenty of discussion about this game from now until Monday night when these two behemoths kick it off at FedEx Field, but here at Cappers Info, we are promptly going to call for the upset of the boys from the Smurf Turf. Boise State has had no history whatsoever succeeding when on the East Coast, as their most recent visit against a BCS team here was at Georgia, where the Bulldogs absolutely smacked the Broncos down Between the Hedges. Virginia Tech is a big time defensive team, and with QB Tyrod Taylor playing in his senior season, this would be the biggest triumph in quite a few years for HC Frank Beamer.
